Cyanotype: In 1843 botanist and photographer Anna Atkins produced the first book of photographic images using the cyanotype medium that she had learned from her friends: the astrologer and architect Sir John Herschel and the man known for inventing the photographic printing process, William Henry Fox Talbot.

Come learn this age old, beautifully deep blue printing process from local photo-based artist Savanna Pettengill. Create forever lasting imprinted images of your favorite objects, and spend time in the darkroom and sun, experimenting with light, time, and different tonal ranges. Students will create as many images as the class allows time for.

For ages 14 - Adult!
